We are seeking to grow our team with an experienced hardscape crew leader who has the skills, knowledge and attitude to take on complex custom hardscape projects and perform up to the standards of our discriminating clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead crew of typically one to five hardscape and landscape technicians
  • Read and execute design installation plans
  • Operate equipment such as skid steers, back hoes, plate tampers, and chop saws
  • Maintain accurate records of materials and labor
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients
  • Maintain positive attitude and uphold Shaffer Landscapes culture

Requirements

  • 10+ years hardscaping, plus demonstrated leadership
  • Experience installing advanced patios, walls, garden ponds, water features, etc.
  • Basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical skills
  • Ability to lift more than 50 lbs and perform other physically-demanding tasks
  • Comfortable operating trucks with trailers (non-CDL) and other equipment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Takes on challenges and solves problems
  • Desire to learn and grow
  • Able to communicate effectively and respectfully with all types of people

We are seeking to grow our team with an experienced estimator to help manage our landscape maintenance division, which is includes mulching, pruning, and bed cleanup (no lawn mowing). The ideal candidate would also have the ability to do some landscape design.

Responsibilities

  • Quickly respond to landscape maintenance inquiries with accurate estimates
  • Maintain relationships with existing maintenance customers
  • Generate sales by being attentive and proactive
  • Consult with customers and do small landscape designs
  • Manage schedules and material ordering for landscape maintenance
  • Work with crew leaders to ensure high quality standards

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in landscaping industry
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities

We are seeking to grow our team with an experienced residential landscape designer who would like to see his or her designs executed to the highest quality standards.

This is an opportunity for a talented designer and estimator to jump right in and have an immediate impact, supported by strong sales abilities at the leadership level, skilled and seasoned crew leaders (10+ years each), and an excellent “plant palette” right outside your window.

Responsibilities

  • Design landscapes and hardscapes
  • Provide estimates for a variety of jobs
  • Drive sales through contact with new and existing customers
  • Work with crew leaders to oversee installations and other work

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as designer
  • Degree in landscape design
  • Proficiency in landscape design software and/or hand drawing
  • Knowledge of horticulture and construction
